Vonore Spec Home Built for More

Knoxville Spec Home Builder

A Spec Home Collaboration

This 1,850-square-foot spec home in Vonore, TN, began when an investor brought the lot to Debuty Builders, Inc., and asked if we would be interested in building it.

From there, our company and the investor worked together to select the house plan and establish the direction for the project. The finished home features four bedrooms, an open-concept layout, modern finishes, and practical upgrades designed to appeal to a wide range of buyers.

Designed for Broad Appeal

The finished home includes four bedrooms, an open-concept floor plan, a walk-in pantry, a built-in mud bench, a large primary bathroom, and covered outdoor living spaces. Modern, neutral finishes give the home a clean look, while practical upgrades such as an on-demand water heater add everyday convenience.

Building a Quality Spec Home Within a Realistic Budget

One of the main challenges of building a spec home is establishing a realistic budget while still producing a quality home. Unlike a custom build where the homeowner chooses each selection, a spec project requires the builder and investor to make those decisions in advance. For this project, our homebuilding team and the investor worked together to choose the plan, color palette, fixtures, and finishes with the goal of creating a well-built home that would appeal to the greatest percentage of buyers.

Spec home or custom home in Knoxville

Deciding between a spec home and a custom home is an important first step when planning your next move. A spec home can offer a more streamlined path to a new home, while a custom home provides greater flexibility in the floor plan, finishes, features, and overall design. If custom building is the right choice, the next steps include finding land in East Tennessee, establishing a realistic budget, and choosing an experienced builder who can guide the project from start to finish.
